Gosu and Dami brush
The Dami brush is a specialized tool designed to hold a large volume of liquid pigment: Unlike fine-tipped detail brushes, it acts more like a reservoir, allowing the painter to "squeeze" to control or release the pigment onto the ceramic surface.
In the afternoon, we learned the “Sumi-hajiki” technique, another traditional Japanese underglaze technique in which ink is used as a resist to create white patterns on a dark background.
