Aono Hana, Utsuwano Mori (Japanese comic)

So instead of alternating throwing sessions and painting sessions, we focus on throwing this week, and in the third week, we have all the bisque ready to work on the painting sessions. In between studio time and learning sessions, we have some tours of a local ceramic factory, as well as other technical workshops and a field trip. We will be so busy.

Because of the all-day practice on Sunday, I was able to do better “Chawan”/rice bowl throwing today.

Also, try to use TOMBO, a measuring tool, to make each piece the same size. Definitely the longest throwing session, and it was very productive.

I found the comic magazine at the studio today. Mirjam told me that the author of the comic “Aono Hana, Utsuwano Mori” came to study how the ceramic studio at Wani Studio is set up while she was making this story. She took the inspiration from Wani Studio to create a ceramic studio in her comic.
