This work is inspired by the porcelain figurines (Wade Whimsies) that were found in the boxes of Red Rose Tea from the 1960’s to the late 1980’s. Over 300 million were given away with a box of tea. The Wade porcelain company continued to make Wade Whimsies until 2010.

My figurines are much larger (approximately 3 to 4 inches) than the original Wade Whimsies, which are about 1.5 inches tall. 

These figurines stand on their own as part of my art project, along with the glaze test pieces.
